GET A HEADSTART IN THE LAW SCHOOL RACE

Studying for Law School is different but not impossible.

Law school is competitive.

Reading for law school is different from reading for an undergrad course.

Writing for law school (and the legal profession) is a unique skillset that must be developed over time.

Studying for law school is its own beast.

But law schools hide the ball and do not give students specific study strategies, detailed training in how to read a case and prepare for class, or thorough guidance on how to study ... until a student fails and is placed on academic probation. However, by then, the damage has been done.

The Pre-Law Summer School will equip you with the skills to know how to read, write, and study for law school.

By the end of this program, you will be in a position to finish law school at the top of the class, thereby enhancing your chances at landing your dream job in the legal profession.

LET'S LEVEL THE PLAYING FIELD

1L grades are instrumental in hiring and career placement.

With the Pre-Law Summer School, you can ensure that you’re ready to hit the ground running on day one. Here is how Pre-Law Summer School will equip you with a great head start.

How to read for law school.

No one, not even my professors, taught me how to do this! Enroll now, and learn this basic law school skill. Also, learn the practical reading strategies that will help you digest copious amounts of reading and show up to class ready and confident for any cold-call question thrown your way.

How to write for law school.

All law students must take a legal research and writing course their first year. However, that course is graded. So, the first-year legal research and writing course is, in reality, when you should be performing and executing. Learn how to write BEFORE you have to do it for a grade.

How to study for law school.

Welcome to the big leagues! Studying for law school is totally different from studying for college or a master's degree. Gain strategies that will help you perform confidently on your law school exams.

Mentorship

As part of Regular Registration, students get a free, 1-hour one-on-one with Coach Angel.

Also, Coach Angel will host virtual office hours for students to ask questions about each module's content, or law school, in general.

Bar Exam Prep

Learn hacks to put you in a better position to become a licensed attorney and save up to thousands of dollars on licensing fees and costs.

Confidence

I've said it once, and I'll say it again: The root of most of my law school struggles was simply a lack of confidence. Upon completion of this program, you will be confidently prepared for the rigors of law school.

SET YOURSELF UP FOR SUCCESS

Gain the Clarity and Preparation Needed to Excel in Law School

Who this Program is for...

  • highly-motivated people who are about to enter their first year of law school ("0Ls"),

  • highly-motivated people who have not yet been admitted to law school, but are still curious about the law school experience ("Pre-Ls")

  • People who want to understand the structure and culture of law school, success strategies, and how to read and write for law school.

  • People who want to enter law school with a head-start and hand-up in the competitive law school race.

  • People who do not accept mediocrity, but instead, want to excel in their law school and legal careers.

  • People who want to graduate in the top of their law school class.

Who this Program is NOT for...

  • This program is NOT for people who do not want to put in the work.

  • People who want a "quick fix" to achieve their dreams of becoming an attorney.

  • People who do not want to invest in their future success.

  • People who want to coast through law school, or do the bare minimum necessary just to get a degree.

  • Pre-Law Summer School is NOT a law school admissions program. (The purpose of Pre-Law Summer School is not to help you get into law school.)

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

I have been where you are now:

newly admitted and excited, but also nervous about what's next. Not to mention, I failed the first semester of law school because I did not know how to DO law school.

Student Spotlights

Jessica Headshot.jpg

"The content itself is phenomenal. She's basically giving you a blueprint to law school: what to expect, and giving you an action plan behind it. So I highly recommend it to anyone interested in law school, even if it's not Harvard specifically."

~Jessica, future law student

Maria Headshot.jpg

"I am a first-generation college graduate and law student ... I still sometimes go back to the videos for how to navigate law school...For example, for my legal memo [assignment], I use the Writing Guide."

ENROLL IN PRE-LAW SUMMER SCHOOL

Ready to succeed in law school?

0030.jpg

Hi!  My name is Angel, and I'm a 2016 Harvard Law grad, trial attorney, and law school coach.

I have litigated countless cases before judges and juries as a trial attorney. When I am not in the courtroom, I enjoy helping people get into, and excel in, law school. Between my social media platforms and direct one-on-one coaching, I have helped hundreds of students from at least 8 different countries gain admission into, and succeed in, law school.

But my path has been far from easy. I entered law school as a first-generation law student from a low-income background. I had no one to teach me the fundamentals of law school.

So I failed the first semester.

However, once I figured out how to "do" law school, I bounced back.

Now, I want to help others start strong in law school, so they are in a competitive position to land their dream legal career.

Hello there

ENROLL IN PRE-LAW SUMMER SCHOOL

By the end of Pre-Law Summer School, you will be equipped with a law school success strategy, including:

  • Access to 10 modules and quizzes that check for understanding.

  • A one-on-one session with Coach Angel.

  • Weekly office hours with Coach Angel throughout the program, exclusive to students in the program.

  • Course Manual - a workbook students use to complete the modules.

  • One copy of Harvard and Hardship: A Beginner's Guide to College and Law School - narrative guide with practical tips.

  • One Copy of the Harvard and Hardship Writing Guide - textbook students will use during the program to learn how to draft legal memos, legal briefs, law school exams, and law school research papers. Past participants have found the Writing Guide helpful when they get to law school.

  • The ability to analytically read a case with a critical, "law school" eye.

  • Confidence in knowing how to approach the main types of law school exams and written assignments.

  • A non-academic (i.e., administrative) to-do list, so that you are on track to become a licensed attorney.

  • Practical advice on how to navigate the culture of law school.

Remember, grades are everything in law school, and this program will give you a head start by equipping you with the tools you need to succeed. That way, by the time law school actually begins, all you have to do is execute.

Frequently Asked Questions

1) What happens after I purchase the program?

Upon purchasing the program, you will have immediate access to Module 0, which covers some very basic terminology you should know before beginning law school, and before beginning the program. You will need to print out the workbook associated with Module 0. Coach Angel recommends finding a quiet space to complete this foundational module. It is not "intense," but it does cover the fundamentals of law school, so you want to give it your undivided attention.

Also, within 24-48 hours of your purchase, you will receive an email directly from Coach Angel asking for your physical address. This is the address we will use to ship your course materials (i.e., the Course Workbook, Writing Guide, and a paperback copy of Harvard and Hardship: A Beginner's Guide to College and Law School).

Lastly, the program will begin on June 2nd. Coach Angel will release the modules weekly, and program participants will be invited to attend exclusive office-hours. Participants will also be able to schedule their complimentary one-on-one session with Coach Angel beginning June 2nd.

2) What are the lessons like?

Pre-Law Summer School consists of 10 modules that each cover a major portion of the law school experience. Each module consists of 3-6 lectures. As Angel explains basic legal jargon, concepts, and how to start off strong in law school, students will take notes in their workbook. (The outline notes are pre-typed in the workbook; Students need only to "fill in the blanks" by copying the text when it is displayed on the webinar screen.)

Also, students will have occasional reading assignments from the Writing Guide (the textbook), as well as from supplemental materials such as case excerpts.

3) How will I receive my course materials?

All materials are included in the cost of registration and will be shipped to the physical address you provide. However, at the moment we are not able to ship to destinations outside the continental U.S.

  • The Course Manual is a physical workbook.

  • The Writing Guide is a physical textbook.

  • A paperback copy of Harvard and Hardship: A Beginner's Guide to College and Law School will be shipped to students who enroll.

  • Supplemental materials (such as excerpts of case opinions) will become available for download once students log in to begin a module.

4) When do classes begin? How often do they meet?

Enrolled students will have access to the course immediately upon enrolling. However, courses are slated to start starting May 30, 2023. Although the lectures were recorded in a local studio in Tampa, FL, Pre-Law Summer School is a virtual, online program. Although there is a suggested schedule to follow, once the modules are released, you are able to complete them on your own time, at your own pace, from the comfort of your own, chosen location.

5) How long is the program?

8 weeks. However, the course is self-paced, so once the modules are released, feel free to go as fast, or as slow, as you please.

6) What are office hours?

Office hours are live small-group sessions where Angel will answer questions about the course material. They are held weekly. Enrolled students will receive a schedule with specific dates, times, and virtual location for the office hours.

7) For how long do I have access to the course?

Indefinitely. The hard-copy course materials (i.e. the workbook, Writing Guide, and the copy of Harvard & Hardship: A Beginner's Guide to College and Law School) are yours to keep. Also, once you enroll in Pre-Law Summer School, you will have access to the webinars indefinitely, thereby allowing you to watch the replays as many times as necessary throughout every phase of your law school experience, from the summer before 1L to the summer before you sit for the bar, and beyond (if your heart so desires).

8) I won't be starting law school right away. Should I enroll in Pre-Law Summer School now, or wait until the summer before I begin law school?

Although Pre-Law Summer School will open enrollment again in the future, it is highly doubtful that future registration will be offered again at the current rate. (The current rate is a promotional incentive.) However, once you purchase the program, you will have indefinite access to the course content. Meaning, if you purchased it at a promotional rate, if future registration is offered at a higher rate, you will remain "enrolled" in the system and have indefinite access to the modules. Also, you will be shipped the course materials with the current cohort, thereby allowing you to leave your course materials on the shelf until you are ready to begin the program.

 9) Will my payment information be secure?

Yes. Harvard and Hardship LLC neither handles nor processes your payment information. The platform we use to host the webinar (“Teachable”) uses 128-bit encryption to process your payment.

You can also choose the PayPal option at checkout.

10) I chose a payment plan. When will my payments be processed.

The payments are processed monthly, on the same day each month. So, for instance, if you purchased the program on April 1st, then the subsequent payments will be automatically processed on May 1st and June 1st.

11) I purchased the program, but now I changed my mind. Are refunds available?

No. Because the student is given immediate access upon registering, course registration is non-refundable and non-transferable to other products or services offered by Harvard and Hardship LLC.

Also, please understand that this is a small, educational business. Once you purchase the course, we order your program materials (i.e., the books).

12) Is Angel available for one-on-one coaching?

Kind of. :-) I accept 5 people/month for law school admissions consultations (i.e., to craft strategies for personal statements, diversity statements, resumes, etc.). However, I will not be accepting new clients until June 2023. If you are interested in a one-on-one service, please click here to complete the booking form. I will respond within 1-2 business days.
